THE MIDGE-Th1 Vector
Exceptional significance for DNA-based vaccinationLike all vectors of the MIDGE vector system, the MIDGE-Th1 vector carries only the minimal genetic information that is required to instigate the action, and it also features the small size characteristic of the MIDGE vector family.
The Th1 type of our Smart MIDGE vectors carries a signal molecule that is firmly attached to a defined site in the single-stranded hairpin structure on one side of the vector. The MIDGE-Th1 vector features an enhanced efficacy when compared to other vectors and induces what is known as a Th1-type cellular immune response. It is therefore especially well suited for vaccination with DNA against infectious diseases that require a cellular immune response to protect against an illness.
