MOLOGEN: MIDGE-TH1 patent will be granted in Europe
The European Patent Office has informed the MOLOGEN AG (ISIN DE0006637200) that the fundamental patent for the MIDGE-TH1 technology will be granted on December 7, 2005. MIDGE-TH1, alongside MIDGE and dSLIM, is the third key technology for products under development by MOLOGEN. MIDGE-TH1 facilitates the design of highly specific and most efficient DNA vaccines in a way that the so called TH1 pathway of the immune system is triggered to overcome infections. This TH1 pathway is required to fight pathogens which replicate within the cell.
About MOLOGENMOLOGEN uses its proprietary DNA technologies to create and develop treatments for high-unmet-need illnesses. The main focuses are the unique and patented MIDGE and dSLIM technologies. Based on these platforms, MOLOGEN is developing DNA-based vaccines and therapeutics to prevent or cure a wide range of diseases. Going public in 1998, MOLOGEN was one of the first German biotechnology companies to be floated on the stock exchange. The MOLOGEN shares are traded on the Geregelter Markt in Frankfurt.
