Clarification of voting rights announcement from former Chief Executive Officer Prof. Burghardt Wittig

 

The biotech company MOLOGEN AG published a voting rights announcement today in accordance with Article 26, Paragraph 1 of the German Securities Trading Law (WpHG). According to this, the proportion of voting rights attributable to Prof. Burghardt Wittig has dropped below the threshold of 3% to 2.95%.

As a result, only 2.31% of MOLOGEN AG shares are now attributable to Prof. Burghardt Wittig, the majority of which are held by BUCHRI Verwaltungs GmbH, Berlin. 

 

Prof. Burghardt Wittig states that the shortfall is solely due to changes in the company structure within BUCHRI Verwaltungs GmbH in Berlin. Prof. Wittig was previously sole partner and managing director of BUCHRI Verwaltungs GmbH and has now granted his wife, Dr. Christiane Keitel-Wittig, a stake in BUCHRI GmbH to the extent that a comparable number of MOLOGEN AG shares can be attributed to her. The reason for this change was purely and simply Prof. Wittig’s wish to give an equal share of his assets to his wife, who as an oncologist has advised and accompanied MOLOGEN for over ten years with its now-successful DNA-based cancer therapies. BUCHRI GmbH continues to hold more than 5% of MOLOGEN AG shares.

 

Prof. Wittig remains with the company as a member of the Strategic Scientific Advisory Council and continues to be influential to, and associated with, the company in the area of research collaborations and is convinced of the long-term potential of MOLOGEN AG.
